Turkish Airlines Introduces Free Unlimited Inflight Messaging for All Passengers

Turkish Airlines is raising the bar for inflight connectivity by offering unlimited complimentary messaging services to all passengers on its international flights. The new service will be available on Wi-Fi-enabled aircraft and will allow passengers to stay connected with friends and family through popular messaging apps such as WhatsApp, Messenger, iMessage, and more.

To access this free service, passengers must be members of the airline’s Miles&Smiles loyalty program, or they can sign up for a free membership during their flight. While the messaging feature is expected to be limited to text-based communication to conserve bandwidth, passengers in business class and elite members of Miles&Smiles will receive additional free Wi-Fi services according to their membership tier.

The rollout of this offering will begin on aircraft with internet access provided by Turk Telekom and will eventually expand to all aircraft with inflight Wi-Fi. Turkish Airlines’ decision to enhance its inflight connectivity is a testament to the growing importance of staying connected during air travel, and it sets a new standard for other airlines to follow.
